The principal objective is to analyze the influence of both time activity pattern (TAP) and pollutant concentration descriptor in indoor air on the exposure estimate of the people to CO, benzene and formaldehyde during their presence in their housing. Based on data collected from a pilot study conducted by the French Permanent Survey on Indoor Air Quality, daily domestic exposure concentrations (DDEC) were calculated. The most occupied rooms are respectively bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom. The more the TAP's indicators and CO concentrations are integrated, the highest the variations are between indoor concentration of CO and DDEC, up to a factor of 5. Bedroom, living-room and kitchen contribute the more to the DDEC (respectively 50, 25 and 15 %)whereas pollution is more important in the kitchen. Thus, the exposure calculation requires precise data to be coherent with the epidemiologic or risk assessment objectives.
