The total simulated P50 capacity of the 10 sites is 780 million tonnes of supercritical CO2, with some sites, such as Cutter Field in South Western Kansas, providing very low storage capacity (~ 1M tonnes) and others, such as Dexter Field in South central Kansas, providing 121M tonnes of CO2 storage. Most sites with the exception of Cutter Field could be considered as commercial scale CO2 storage reservoirs from a perspective of available pore space. However, the recent increase in earthquakes in South Central Kansas associated with large volume brine disposal could potentially challenge this assessment.
