摘要

The bioactivity of an insulin protein coated microcrystal (PCMC) suitable for pulmonary drug delivery produced using a co-precipitation technique was determined using the vasodilating action of insulin. Rat mesenteric arteries were perfused with insulin solutions using a pressurised perfusion myograph. The results demonstrate that this provides a good assay method for insulin bioactivity. Insulin PCMCs are found to exhibit excellent bioactivity after 7 months storage at room temperature.
