Today's Varta NiMH micro batteries are not only dedicated for low rate applications, they are suitable to be used as main battery in devices with rather high current drains. These new high rate cells can power even GSM phones. For the upcoming wireless telecommunication devices besides mobile phones the designer will find a potential solution to power his project with micro batteries.
