The novel robot soccer platform based on the electromagnetic driving principle can control several robots, and move on a developed planar coil array platform (PCAP) by time-sharing control. Robot localization is also realized by the same PCAP using eddy current effect. The attracted force of robot produced by the exciting current of the selected coil, is also analyzed with ANSYS simulation tool. In the proposed system, robots can move in straight or diagonal directions freely, and strike the soccer ball at a certain speed. Hence, it has similar functions with a conventional robot soccer platform, but costs in hardware.
