摘要

The digital video surveillance system over LAN/Internet based on MPEG-Ⅰ can not only compress 16 channels of video and audio signal at best in local disk, but also realize multi-channel remote surveillance through network. A method to realize multi-channel remote surveillance over LAN/Internet based on MPEG-Ⅳ and resolve the low compression ratio limitation of MEPG-Ⅰ. There is no video compression card based on MPEG-Ⅳ now, MPEG-Ⅳ coding is realized by the software in this system, and MPEG-Ⅰ coding data from compression card is saved in local disk. The coding data is reverted to un-compression AVI data by MPEG-? decoding.
