The texture distributions along the radial direction of drawn and annealed copper wires were investigated. An electrolytic copper rod was cold drawn to 90% reduction in area. The drawn wire had the major <111> + minor <100> duplex fiber texture in the center region of wire, while the relatively defused texture developed in the surface region due to friction between wire and die during drawing. When annealed at 700°C, the wire developed the <111> fiber orientation in the center region and <100> in the other region. The prolonged annealing gave rise to the <111>-<112> fiber texture.
