摘要

This paper describes an approach to optimization and robust design of permanent magnet brushless DC (BLDC) motors for cogging torque reduction. In the design of optimization process, finite element method is applied to simulate the electromagnetic field and forces. Taguchi method is then used to search for the optimal setting of design parameters. Computational example utilizing the approach shows that it can work as an effective and efficient optimization tool for both normal and robust design applications.
