摘要

In a recent study by Chen, Gilson, & Wang (in preparation), 33 warning messages normallyappearing on consumer products were rated and then ranked according to an odds ratio analysis. Ten of thewarnings were about bodily injury; 13 were instructions for safe operation; 10 were instructions for storageand disposal. The order in which warning messages were presented was randomized to observe the effect ofpresentation order on hazard ratings of the messages. Demographic data were also collected to investigateif different populations perceive warning messages differently.
