The comprehensive monitoring program for the first steel catenary riser installed in the semisubmersible P-18

This paper presents a general overview of the comprehensive monitoring program installed in the first SCR (Steel Catenary Riser) of Petrobras. The 10-inch export gas SCR was installed in the semi-submersible production platform Petrobras XVIII located in 910 meters water depth in the Marlim field, Campos Basin, offshore Brazil. The program was designed to monitor loads and stresses induced in the SCR in response to the motion imposed by the floating production platform.
