The growing need for the low cost development of long distance tie-backs and deepwater fields is placing ever increasing demands on the ability of multiphase production systems to assure transportation of wellhead fluids to the processing facilities. In an increasing number of cases, maintaining flow assurance is the overriding concern during design of the production system.
