To perform the selective extraction of trivealent actinides over trivalent lanthanides from aqueous nitric acid solutions (up to 1 mol/L), different nitrogen bearing ligands were tested: 2, ':6', 2"-terpyridine (Pyrid-2-yl)-1, 3, 5-triazine (TPTZ) and 2, 6-bis-(5, 6-di-n-propyl-1, 2. 4-triazin-3-yl)-pyridine (nPthough these molecules are very similar in their formula (ptoentially panaer terdendate M(III) binding site), their performances are very differeht, nPr-BTP being far better than Tpy and TPTZ for M(III) extraction and Am(III)/Eu(III) separation at high acidity (up to 1 mol/L HNO_3).
