Most of the human interactions with the surrounding world are made using the hands. The comples constitution of the hands (a great number of interconnected bones, with more than 20 degrees of freedom, controlled by a complex structure of muscles, tendons and ligaments and a deep nervous system) allow us to perform a great diversity of tasks. One of the nost diffcult structures of the hand to model is the extensor hood mechanism - the networked tendon structure that drives the extension of the fingers. To study tendon transers and joint implants, a mechanical model of the hand is required.
