Development of the dynamic riser system fo9r a ship-shaped production host in the deepwater gulf of mexico

The consideration of a ship-shaped host for a propsed production system in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico presents a number and variety of challenges for the import and export dynamic risers. These technical challenges are driven both by the water depth under consideration (6,000 to 7,000 ft.), as well as by the relatively large motions of the hos. A list of the difficulties includes: Large tension dynamics, with prossibly dynamic compression and buckling.
