Recently, the "Polish Brass" type of finish using PVD technology for building hardware has become commercially poputlar. This PVD coating enable some manufactures to offer a lifetime warranty on their finish. Unfortunately, in order to coat hardware with PVD, these items must be coated with Nickel/Chrome first by an electro-plater, which still uses toxic chemicals deterimental to our environment.
