The characteristics of the shock train in the axisymmetric mixer of RBCC are numerically studied in this paper. Results indicate that there exits shock-boundary or mixing layer interactions in the mixer with complex background waves. The mixer can be divided into two districts: Free mixing region and Shock train mixing region. It is observed that two types of shock trains are formed in the Shock train mixing region, which is external and internal respectively. Boundaries of the outer shock train are mixing layer and wall (the shock train of ramjet captured flow) and those of the inner shock train are both mixing layers (the shock train of rocket plume). In addition, with the increasing of backpressure, the total pressure recovery capability decreases firstly, and then increases. And, it also can be found that the wall pressure distributions of the mixer deviate from the Waltrup model.
