摘要

The design features of the new acoustics laboratory at CSIRO North Ryde have been described and some typical experimental results discussed. The measured background sound-pressure levels in the receiving room are relatively low (about 20 dB(A)) and the measured equivalent sound-absorption areas are well below the maximum specified values for sound-absorption measurements. For several test specimens, measured STL and STC results were found to agree well with values on similar walls tested in the old laboratory or expected values from empirical/theoretical considerations or with other available results in the literature.
