Syngas production by partial oxidaiton of methane has been investigated over Ni and Rh loaed honeycomb catalysts.The influence of the method of incorporation of the catalystic component,the metal loading and the activation temperature on the catalytic performance werre investigated.These catalysts were found to be very active and quite stable when working at extremely high space velocities and an overall pressure of 2 MPa.The relatie aboundance of the catalystic component was revealed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.Additional informaiton on the temperature requreid to generate the active species was provided by temperature programmed reduction.
