A catalyst for manufacturing the synthetic gas from the natural gas and methane gas including nickel, and a method for manufacturing the synthetic gas are provided to increase activity of the catalyst by reducing carbon precipitated in the catalyst due to activated carbon. A catalyst for manufacturing synthetic gas from natural gas and methane gas includes a tungsten carbide carrier and nickel which is an active material dipped in the carrier. The synthetic gas is manufactured from the natural gas or the methane gas. A manufacturing method of the catalyst include the following steps of: dipping a nickel precursor in a tungsten compound; drying the tungsten compound; plasticizing the compound; carbonizing the compound; and reducing the nickel precursor of the tungsten compound.
