Safety on a construction site is often left entirely up to the contractor to manage, even though the builder is traditionally the last organization to become involved with a construction project. Owners and engineers can dramatically impact job safety by using construction professionals to provide safety input early in a project's development. This approach gives the contractor an opportunity to better control construction hazards on the work site. Once work at the site begins, the contractor should have an active safety program that involves all employees and empowers them to create a safe workplace.
