A previously developed volume-weighted averaging technique for the fatigue predictionof the solder joints is investigated under the availability of additional test data. The method is based on a finite element modeling of creep response of solder joints under cyclic thermal loads and an energy-based fatigue criterion. The empirical coefficiens of fatigue life criterion are determined by correlations of the finite leemnt predictions to experimentally available fatigue daa. improved fatigue cefficients and presented under the availability of additional experimental data.
