Many studies have been done on the effects of motion and immobilization on the healing of knee ligaments and tendons using various animals models. Several of those studies revealed that early motion and optimal application of tension enhance recovery. HOwever, few studies have been performed on the quantitative relationship between the amount of stress and healing, and the optimal timing of the application of stress.
