Total quality management is a philosophy that has a controversial implementation history. This study examines the influence of organizational structure and quality practices on quality performance and company perforamcne. A conceptual model of TQM performance is developed and tested with empirical data. A composite statistical index is developed for quality practices. The findings suggest that orgnaizational structure has positive and direct effects on both quality practices and firm performance. Significant and positive relationships are also found between quality practices and TQM performance and TQM performance and firm performance.
