During the past ten years, numerous regulatory and advisory organizations have offered recommendations on how accounting education can be improved. None of these groups have included student representation, however, despite their prominent role in the educational process. One such group, the Accounting Education Change Commission (AECC), identified 39 traits as being esential for accountign students to possess at the time of their graduation. This paper reports the results (and statistical analysis) of a questionnaire which was adminitered to accounting students at a small AACSB-accredited midwestern university in order to obtain their insights as to the importance of these traits.
