Interweaving degrees have been widely used as indexes in the study of filament winding strategy. However, the way to obtain the interweaving degrees remains unclear, incomploete in definition and tedious to calcualte. In this paper, a precise definition of interwaving matrices is introduced, which can be regrarded as graphical representation of filament winding interweaving. Based upon the interweaving matrices, a simple formula for calculating interweaving degrees is obtained.
