A sufficient condition will be derived under which discrete-time linear time-varying state-space systems will be bounded-input bounded-output stable. The results derived generalize the notion of characteristic equations and the Cayley-Hamilton theorem to the time-varying case. It will be noted that the systems we consider are not required to be slowly varying.
