For today's computerized manufacturing system, PC based CAD system can be utilized to provide actual off-line programming of robotics, thus providing flexible computer control with minimal downtime. Currently, programming techniques such as manual setup, leadthrough programming, computer-like robot programming languages, and off-line programming are being utilized. Until now, limited efforts have been set forth for the interfacing and translation between a PC based CAD system and an industrial robot.
