The spherical seed cores that consisted of only microcrystalline cellulose were coated by powdered sugar as model of water soluble drug with the tumbling bed coating machine. The obtained spherical granules were lower aggregation than the sugar spheres, and were produced easily. Moreover the film-coated sustained release granules that contain the microcrystalline cellulose spheres were examined in the dissolution test that assumed physical stress of intestinal tract. As a result, the microcrystalline cellulose spheres that did not dissolve in water restricted deformation of film, and the burst of its film, namely dose-dumping was very few.
