摘要

The morphology of the particleused for fine ceramics raw powders is not limited in spherical shape, but needle like and flaky shape exist. In the previous study by authors, the measuring technique for the spherical particles has been almost established. However, the effect of particle shape on the principles of particle size analyzers has not been made clear. Furthermore, it has not been reported the statistical data comparison among various equipment and principles with several shape of particles. In this study, round robin research was performed by using fine ceramic raw powders having a spherical, needle like and flaky shape. Consequently, it was found that the particle size were larger in laser diffraction & scattering method than other methods when anisotropy shape particles were measured. The width of the particle size distribution were large in laser diffraction & scattering method and photo sedimentation method. Besides, the effect of the particle shape on the data scattering among equipment became remarkably worse at the coarser region of the particle size distribution measured with photo sedimentation method.
