The effects of yttria dispersions on the oxidation behaviours of Ni and Fe-based alloys

The effects of yttria on the oxidation of Ni-based alloys which form either Cr_2O_3 or Al_2O_3 have been compared with an alumina forming Fe-based ODS alloy. The ways in which the morphology of the metal/oxide interface can provide useful insights into the balance of cation and anion diffusion taking place during scaling is examined.
