Low carbon austenitic stainless steel has been used for BWR components, but recently it has been reported that low carbon austenitic stainless steel such as type 316L has IGSCC susceptibility in BWR simulated environment by laboratory test. In this work, we discuss the possibility to determine the grain boundary where stress corrosion cracking will occur by using EBSD. It was found that the deviation between the rotation axis of cracked grain boundary and <111> is important for SCC in high temperature water.
