Under defiend laboratory conditions selected pesticides were ozonated at pH 3 and pH 7. As a resutl, the transformation of atrazine and terbutylazine at pH 7 was quicker than at pH 3. The desethyl metabolites were formed at pH 3 as well as at pH 7. In contrast to the results of pH 3, the desethyl compounds were then transofrmed at pH 7 into unknwon substances. Further model experiments with very low concentrations showed that polar pesticides were transformed completely. The residual cncentratiosn of triazine and anilid derivatives were in the range of 50
