A new multi-lead arrhythmia algorithm has been developed for usein real-time monitoring. The new algorithm can process simultaneously upto two channels of ECG signals for detecting changes in the ECG rhythmand generating alarms. The new algorithm was validated extensively usingboth publicly available and proprietary databases. For the 78 non-pacedAHA patients, the PVC detection sensitivity, positive predictivity, andfalse positive rate for the latest algorithm revision are 97.24%, 98.53%and 0.15%, respectively. For the 44 nonpaced MIT-BIH patients, thecorresponding values are 94.39%, 97.09%, and 0.21%
