The pre-corneal tear layer provides an important optical as well as physiologicla function. Hence, the ability to assess the quality and behaviour of tears, especially in dry-eye, marginal dry-eye and contact lens patients is important. While a large range of clinical tests exists for assessing tear quality, many are subjective and show poor repeatability .
