AN INTEGRATED FACSIMILE MAIL SERVICE FOR OFFICE AUTOMATION

A new structure for the service order document (SD) in the integrated facsimile mall service (IFMS) is proposed. The SD is defined as a set of various service orders to associate the control document (CD) with the normal document (ND) based on CCITT MHS recommendations. This enables users to easily add to or delete service orders from the sender, and integrate facsimile mail delivery, media or format conversion, and information processing. An example of the IFMS system using the G3 facsimile is also discussed. Using the SD, this system can be extended to the G4 facsimile, teletex and mixed mode teletex.
