UR Research

摘要

The University of Rochester River Campus Libraries was awarded a grant from the Institute for Museum and Library Services in 2003 to study how University faculty find, use, and produce grey literature and to apply this knowledge in enhancing the University's DSpace institutional repository, called UR Research. The study was conducted in 2003-2004 by a cross-disciplinary project team that included an anthropologist, computer scientist, graphic designer, programmer, catalogers, and subject librarians. Using work-practice study methodologies, team members interviewed twenty-five faculty in economics, visual and cultural studies, political science, physics, and linguistics about their research and writing processes, how they keep up in their fields, and how use of an institutional repository might fit with these activities.
