The North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources (NCDENR) and the U.S. EPA have undertaken a joint effort to evaluate the performance characteristics of chemiluminescence ammonia (NH_3) analyzers: a technology, which has only recently become commercially available on a widespread basis. Both of these agencies, along with North Carolina State University have used this technology since 1998 in measurement and modeling projects throughout North Carolina. In order to understand the capabilities of these instruments better, NCDENR and U.S. EPA have attempted to quantify important aspects of the performance of a Thermo Environmental Instruments Inc.
