The effects of EGR on conventional diesel combustion and premixed compression ignition diesel combustion modes were studied. The effects of EGR on In-cylinder pressure, heat release rate, exhaust emission and performance of two combustion modes were studied by experiments. It was found that the effects were different on heat release rate, emissions and performance and some conclusions were drawn.
