The aim of this paper is to present a new class of cost functions for blind channel equalization called Generalized Distortion Measures, and to show a particular member of this class, the Burelian Measure, that recalls a cost function firstly introduced by G. Burel (1992) in a source separation context. Here we derive a new blind equalization method we call BLADE, based on the above theory, and through simulations we show its usefulness in the blind equalization context.
