This paper explores a Kinematic Car-following model at Signalized intersections( a KCS traffic model) based on the one dimensional Kinematic equations in physics. With respect to the time of vehicles crossing the detector, the motion of vehicles from the upstream detector to the downstream stop-line is formulated analytically as a function of the start of green time. A comparative evaluation in sensitivity of delay with respect to the variations in the start of green time between the KCS traffic model and the previously known linear model (the Vertical Queueing model) is presented. Delay estimates in the Vertical Queueing model is greater than or equal to the KCS traffic model; however, the maximum sensitivity of delay in the KCS traffic model is greater than the Vertical Queueing model.
