The locally planar theory is applied to arbitrarily shaped finite FSSs (frequency selective surfaces) with nonplanar wave illumination. The inductive FSS is considered, and each local planar area consists of a single unit cell (aperture). A number of experiments have been performed on planar and 2-D hyperbolic (cylindrical) FSSs. The experimental results are presented along with theory.
