Sonata per Violino Solo by Dumitru Bughici - Structure and Performing

摘要

The need for contrast through character, movement, measure, extra-musical suggestions is specific to this Sonata for solo violin by generating the antagonism between the melodic lyricism and the dancing rhythm, combined with metro-rhythmic suggestions of jazz rhythms. Hence the need for the violinist to subordinate all his technical-performing means to the optimum accomplishment of each role. In other words the rigorous art of the performer's violin playing should serve the ineffable turned sublime in this work.
