This paper examines the design and fabrication of a motorized fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) platform span to be used to facilitate the refueling process in a nuclear power plant. The pultruded structural system is mounted on motorized steel trucks and incorporates additional mechanical and electrical subsystems, for use by workers servicing the reactor core.
