The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has prepared Supplement 1 to the final Integrated Plant Safety Assessment Report (IPSAR) (NUREG-0822), under the scope of the Systematic Evaluation Program (SEP), for the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station, located in Ocean County, New Jersey and operated by GPU Nuclear Corporation and Jersey Central Power and Light Company (colicensees). The SEP was initiated by the NRC to review the design of older operating nuclear power plants to reconfirm and document their safety. The report documents the review completed under SEP for those issues that required refined engineering evaluations or the continuation of ongoing evaluations subsequent to issuing the Final IPSAR for the Oyster Creek Plant. The final IPSAR and its supplement will form part of the bases for considering the conversion of the existing provisional operating license to a full-term operating license.
