Change is interminable and somewhat ominous for many organizations trying to stay competitive or to improve performance by implementing the next generation change. However, armed with an auspicious set of factors, organizations could increase their chances of implementing a change that improves employees' performance. This paper is a work in progress specifically focusing on the implementation of change. The scope of the research is limited to knowledge workers in the service industry. The purpose is to study the implementation of organizational change using a questionnaire comprised of factors present during the implementation of the change and the perceived performance improvement of the organization. The study will include multiple companies to avoid myopic perspectives of doing a single organizational case study. This study has implications for engineering managers in identifying factors present during the implementation of change that affect team and organizational performance.
