With the proliferation of advanced packages, along with therncontinued integration of traditionally mechanical functionsrninto electromechanical assemblies, the cleaning processrncontinues to face new difficulties. Low standoff area arrayrnpackages, blind connectors, encased relays, bulky heat sinksrnare all examples of difficult to penetrate and difficult to dryrncomponents used on today’s assemblies. A cleaningrnsystem’s capabilities must be developed to extend thernperformance window beyond the challenges posed by theserntechnologies, while not exceeding a value proposition.rnTraditionally, increased cleaning performance capabilitiesrnare gained with directly proportional increases in cost ofrnownership. This paper will discuss new equipmentrninnovations in drying technology. These patent pendingrninnovations will show increased performance capabilities,rnwhich are delivered with inverse proportions to cost ofrnownership.
