We have taken the human out of the visual inspectionrnprocess but AOI does not improve your process on it’s own.rnAutomation is key but data analysis is now more importantrnto making intelligent decisions.rnWhat will shape the next summit for AOI and how does thatrnaffect the way that we think about implementation of thesernsystems?rnThis paper evaluates the requirement and desired attributesrnof the next generation of AOI technology. In it, we reviewrnthe challenges overcome during the early AOI adoption inrnthe dramatic growth period of the electronics industryrnduring the late 90's. We assess change and analyze therndrivers in the industry and the gaps to be addressed as newrnindustry paradigms.rnAOI detects and predicts changes in the quality output ofrnsurface mount electronics assembly process. Therntechnology is constantly adapting to new requirements inrnthe industry and a maturing of the product offering isrnunderway, stimulated by the expectations of experiencedrnAOI users.rnWhen we think of technology development we oftenrnconsider only the hardware breakthroughs. In the field ofrnAOI development, innovation and value added features nowrnlie mainly in the software domain.rnMaturing hardware configurations provide a platform forrnevolved solutions to address the full scope of high mix andrnhigh volume applications.rnThis seminar will appeal to the forward looking, quality &rncost conscious engineers or managers who are interested inrnimproving first pass yield in the most cost effective manner.
