The performance of a saw-toothed fluidic diode (rectifying element) coupled with a resonator is studied. The resonator works on the idea of Resonant Macrosonic Synthesis (RMS) technology demonstrated by Lawrenson et al. The resonator used in this study is nonuniform. The pressure fluctuation is achieved by establishing high frequency standing waves in the chamber. The evanescent standing wave results in pressure anti-nodes and nodes within the chamber. The rectifying element device is used to extract acoustic energy from the resonator. The rectification also strongly depends on the drive amplitude and shape of acoustic compressor. Thus the resonators along with the saw toothed fluidic diode arrangement represent a valveless standing wave pump (SWP).
