Research on Evaluation of Supplier’s Quality Assurance System

To be a worldwide competitor, enterprise needs to evaluate and select its supplier carefully. Generally,rnto evaluate a supplier, the evaluating effort is focused on the purchase price, delivery time, product quality, etc.rnThe vendors’ quality assurance is seldom considered. However, it reflects the ability that a vendor canrnprovide high quality but low cost products continuously and stably. In this paper, with the study onrnevaluation of supplier’s quality assurance system, a set of methods and indices to supplier’s quality assurancernevaluation is introduced. The indices construct an index system, which is based on the ISO9000 series standards.rnAccording to the problem’s character and the requirement of evaluation, all the evaluation indices are set offrnto three kinds: general index, functional index and protective index. And the evaluation method combinesrnquantitative analysis with qualitative analysis. Firstly, a sensitive factor model is constructed to estimate therncontribution of factors that have key effect on synthetic evaluation in supplier’s quality system. Then, thosernsuppliers having low evaluating value are rejected. Secondly, fuzzy logic is introduced to evaluate the otherrnsuppliers synthetically. The rest suppliers are comparable. So, supplier’s quality assurance system can bernevaluated in quantity. After unification works, the evaluated suppliers can be ranked. And the best vendorrncan be selected out intuitively.
