THE EVALUATION ON SEISMIC RESISTANCE FOR A TYPICAL FIRE STATION

摘要

After damages caused by major earthquakes, the regional fire stations always play important roles in rescuing missions. During design stages their seismic resistance performances have to be well estimated to satisfy this requirement. A newly designed fire station following current building code has been examined for this issue. The nonlinear pushover scheme developed by National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering (NCREE) of Taiwan is adopted for this purpose. Results show that the requirements of current building code and a well designed structural system are suitable for the needs of a fire station.
